A possible application for this research area. Paper-specific feasibility still needs a full-paper review.
Your coding assistant makes changes that still need substantial repair before merging.

- Locate the paper's implementation and check its license, model support, data needs, and hardware requirements. Stop here if you cannot obtain the required artifacts.
- Save a small set of representative product tasks and expected outcomes. Keep evaluation tasks out of any training or tuning, and choose quality and cost limits before running.
- Run the baseline and the proposed change on identical inputs. Keep other settings fixed and repeat paired runs to expose variation.
- Save per-task outputs, failures, timings, and all usage costs. Review regressions before expanding the test.
What to measure
Correct patches, regression failures, human repair time, and total cost per accepted change.
When to keep it
Keep the change only if it meets your preselected quality and latency limits and improves the metric you care about after setup and operating costs. Otherwise retain the baseline. This is an exploration plan, not a validated recommendation.

- Compact documentation generation for coding agents

The paper's central, validated result is negative—compact documentation does not improve issue resolution—so there is nothing to adopt, though the boundary characterization and benchmark are worth tracking.
About the technical core
Equations have not been fetched yet.
When reading the methods, identify the rule, algorithm, or evaluation protocol that produces the claimed change. An equation is useful here only if it explains that mechanism.

Read the brief interpretation
The paper proposes a roundtrip benchmark and prompt optimizer for generating compact code descriptions, intended to replace reliance on raw source or retrieved context for issue resolution; the core finding is that this documentation layer replaces nothing in practice, since the issue text alone performs as well when source is present. Adopting it would cost generation time, prompt-optimization effort, and added context-management complexity with no measured improvement on real repository issues across two model families and ten repositories. The residual risk of adopting similar documentation pipelines is spending engineering budget on context curation that a positive control shows would have been detectable if it helped.
This is a Paperraft inference. It is not pinned to a verified PDF passage.
